Colorado Blue Spruce Young Adult Book Award 2011 Nominees

Did you know that Colorado wants you to vote for your favorite books?  Colorado gives out the Blue Spruce Award to books that have been selected and voted on by teens.  The 2011 nominees have been selected by teens in Colorado.  Now is the time to read the books and get ready to cast your vote.  You have until January 2011 to vote.  Read the books now and we will give you more information about voting later.  The nominees are listed below in alphabetical order.  Click on a book image to place a hold on the book.   Here are the nominees:

Michael Printz Award Winners

The winners were announced on Monday!

And the winner is:

Going Bovine by Libba Bray

Cameron Smith, a disaffected sixteen year-old who, after being diagnosed with Creutzfeld Jakob’s (aka mad cow) disease, sets off on a road trip with a death-obsessed video gaming dwarf he meets in the hospital in an attempt to find a cure.  Here is a review.
