Teen Short Film Contest

Now is the time to start getting your Teen Short Film ready. You can register on May 3, 2010. The rules are listed below. You can register and turn in your film starting 5/3/10. All films must be turned in by 6/16/10. The top 8 films will be screened for the public during our Red Carpet event on 6/30/10. Everyone in the crowd will get to vote for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The first place winner will win a Flip Video Camera courtesy of the Best Buy Grant. Start getting you film ready now because I can’t wait to see you on the Red Carpet.

Official Rules

1. Registration Required. (Ages 12-18)
2. Deadline for turning in a short film is 6/14/10 at 9:00pm. (The library closes at 9:00pm that day. All work must be submitted at that time.)
3. All short films must be in digital format on CDRom or DVD, and all films must be no longer than 10 minutes. (Films must be playable on QuickTime Player.)
4. Short films will be voted on by staff and the Teen Interest Council. The top 8 films will be screened for the public on 6/30/09 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm. The public will vote for the top 3 films.
5. Awards will be given to the top 3 films on 6/30/09.
6. You may choose any topic for your short film. It may be a documentary, or a work of fiction. Short Films may not depict any of the following:
a. Lewd language (cursing or
disparaging remarks about any group
or person)
b. Nudity
c. Drugs
